A Breeze Bars racing update

Not a huge weekend of racing the Breeze Bars squad, but we had some people out on the roads this weekend. Sunshine Hill Climb and Deer Trail Road Race saw our cyclists out in battle and in Europe, Mara Abbott is racing the Tour D'Aude this week.

Mara scored a huge win today in the Tour D'Aude. She broke away with teammate Evelyn Stevens and Emma Pooley. Mara and Emma came to the line together and Mara put in the kick and won the stage for the US national composite team. A great return to European racing for Mara.

At Sunshine Hill Climb Allen Krughoff and Scott Tietzel lined up in a stacked pro field. Scott's goal was to be on the podium for a third straight year and he succeeded. Scott was just pipped at the line for the win, but scored his best finish yet with a second place. Allen was not in his element on the big climb but had a solid race to 18th.

Sunday saw a windy Deer Trail. Allen was 10th, Scott 15th in the pro 1/2 race and Breeze Bars' own Grant Holicky was 14th in the men's 35+ race.

This weekend is a big one. Flora Duffy returns to racing and mara continues to stage hunt in Tour D'Aude.

The best athletes

We at Breeze Bars are constantly inspired by our athletes. We mean it when we say we sponsor some of the greatest people around.

Breeze Bar athlete Mara Abbott is no exception. I have known her for a long time. It is a truly great felling when your athletes become your friends. Fine friends.

Mara's latest endeavor.

Breeze Bars Welcomes Flora Duffy

We have welcomed Flora Duffy to the Breeze Bars team, but this is why we are so excited to have her on board.

Flora on Flora...

I been doing triathlon since I was 9 years old and can't imagine my life without it. I am now 22 years old have represented Bermuda at the Commonwealth, Pan American and Olympic Games. I have also competed in many World Cups and multiple World Championships. Outside of triathlon you can find me studying as I am a student at the University of Colorado. I also love bike racing. I race for the CU Cycling Team which has so far made my college experience amazing.

After taking a year out from the Sport to focus on school I am excited to race again in 2010! Watch out.

Another great weekend of racing

The Breeze Bar squadron of athletes had another great weekend.

Mara Abbott went down to Gila and dominated the 5 days of racing. She finished with a 2 minute plus gap in the GC and won the opening stage up the Mogollon. Mara exhibited the all around strength that has made her a force to be reckoned with in stage races once again. Nice job Killer!

FOBB (friends of Breeze Bars) Rife Hilgartner and Allen Gardner were excellent in their first triathlons of the season. Rife doubled up in Ruston and went 9th in the long course Xterra and 6th in the short course the next day. Thank God he had Breeze bars there to keep him going. Allen was out at Wildflower and came 8th in the first race of his life. Way to go guys.

Kristen Peterson hopped in Escape from Alcatraz at the last minute and was still able to put a top ten out there. Injury free and running well, Kristen is looking good for the season.

Meanwhile, Breeze and Grant punished themselves at the Lookout Hill Climb. We do race occasionally, although not like our sponsored athletes.

Great job guys, keep spreading the good news.
