That's what the newest sponsor of the Breeze Bars U-25 Professional Triathlon Team makes. Carroll Composites came on board today as the newest sponsor of the team.

Allen and Flora are looking forward to making Donovan's product move very quickly, both on the road and out of the stores. A Breeze Bars racing update

Not a huge weekend of racing the Breeze Bars squad, but we had some people out on the roads this weekend. Sunshine Hill Climb and Deer Trail Road Race saw our cyclists out in battle and in Europe, Mara Abbott is racing the Tour D'Aude this week.

Mara scored a huge win today in the Tour D'Aude. She broke away with teammate Evelyn Stevens and Emma Pooley. Mara and Emma came to the line together and Mara put in the kick and won the stage for the US national composite team. A great return to European racing for Mara.

At Sunshine Hill Climb Allen Krughoff and Scott Tietzel lined up in a stacked pro field. Scott's goal was to be on the podium for a third straight year and he succeeded. Scott was just pipped at the line for the win, but scored his best finish yet with a second place. Allen was not in his element on the big climb but had a solid race to 18th.

Sunday saw a windy Deer Trail. Allen was 10th, Scott 15th in the pro 1/2 race and Breeze Bars' own Grant Holicky was 14th in the men's 35+ race.

This weekend is a big one. Flora Duffy returns to racing and mara continues to stage hunt in Tour D'Aude.

The best athletes

We at Breeze Bars are constantly inspired by our athletes. We mean it when we say we sponsor some of the greatest people around.

Breeze Bar athlete Mara Abbott is no exception. I have known her for a long time. It is a truly great felling when your athletes become your friends. Fine friends.

Mara's latest endeavor.

Breeze Bars Welcomes Flora Duffy

We have welcomed Flora Duffy to the Breeze Bars team, but this is why we are so excited to have her on board.

Flora on Flora...

I been doing triathlon since I was 9 years old and can't imagine my life without it. I am now 22 years old have represented Bermuda at the Commonwealth, Pan American and Olympic Games. I have also competed in many World Cups and multiple World Championships. Outside of triathlon you can find me studying as I am a student at the University of Colorado. I also love bike racing. I race for the CU Cycling Team which has so far made my college experience amazing.

After taking a year out from the Sport to focus on school I am excited to race again in 2010! Watch out.

Flora's results.

2nd Junior World Championships, Lausanne Switzerland, 2006
6th Cancun World Cup, Mexico, 2006

9th Hamburg World Cup, Germany 2007
5th Lisbon World Cup, Portugal, 2007
Olympian, Beijing, China, 2008

Multiple other World Cup top 25 finishes.

Flora comes to us not only as a great athlete but as a great person. She is always smiling and laughing and brightens up every training session or race. Welcome aboard Flora!

Another great weekend of racing

The Breeze Bar squadron of athletes had another great weekend.

Mara Abbott went down to Gila and dominated the 5 days of racing. She finished with a 2 minute plus gap in the GC and won the opening stage up the Mogollon. Mara exhibited the all around strength that has made her a force to be reckoned with in stage races once again. Nice job Killer!

FOBB (friends of Breeze Bars) Rife Hilgartner and Allen Gardner were excellent in their first triathlons of the season. Rife doubled up in Ruston and went 9th in the long course Xterra and 6th in the short course the next day. Thank God he had Breeze bars there to keep him going. Allen was out at Wildflower and came 8th in the first race of his life. Way to go guys.

Kristen Peterson hopped in Escape from Alcatraz at the last minute and was still able to put a top ten out there. Injury free and running well, Kristen is looking good for the season.

Meanwhile, Breeze and Grant punished themselves at the Lookout Hill Climb. We do race occasionally, although not like our sponsored athletes.

Great job guys, keep spreading the good news.

New retailers

They are popping up left and right. As a matter of fact it is hard to keep track of them all.

A couple we want to note here.

The Tattered Cover in Denver and Beadnicks in Highlands Ranch. We have been looking for great retailers in Denver and these two are great. The tattered Cover has 3 locations and there is one near you in Denver wherever you are.

Crane Hollow Cafe in Hygeine. This is a great spot for you to stop on your way out of town for your ride. Located at the Southeast corner of the 4 way stop, Crane Hollow sells great food, great coffee and Breeze Bars.

Also, Pekoe in Boulder has decided to give us a shot. They took on a box of bars at the Steelyards location (30th st. just South of Valmont) and if we can sell them out between now and tuesday, they may start carrying the bars. We would love to be in Pekoe, so swing by and get a bar.

Also, the spoke Shop in Billings, MT is now carrying the bars. The Spoke Shop is a great bike shop in Billings and a great place to get a bar.

Stay tuned for a new athlete signing.

Huge weekend.

This past weekend was a huge weekend of success for Breeze Bars athletes.

Mara Abbott won the prolouge of the San Dimas Stage Race and held the lead until the final day. She finished the race in second.

Cameron Dye was at the mazatlan ITU Continental Cup this weekend and walked away with a 2nd place as well. Cam broke away on the bike and rode 40k alone and held on with one of the best runs of his life to take second.

Alternative energy paying off so far this season.

The signal of the next step?

The early progression of Breeze bars may have taken a big turn in the past week. Our early retailers have been Helth Clubs abd coffee shops. While these places have helped us release a great product into the world. The ability to reach large numbers of bars into the world.

The bars were picked up this week by the Tattered Cover bookstore in Denver and Lefty's market in North Boulder.

The tattered Cover has 3 locations in the Denver area and is an institution in Denver. We are incredibly happy to be associated with the shop. They are truly the standarrd by which independent book sellers are measured.

Lucky's is the supermarket in North boulder. For years there has been talk of building a Safeway or something like that in NoBo, but the residents have repeatedly shot it down. They have always just said, "we have Lucky's". I have spent many hours in there when I lived with my brother on Quince. It is a great store and a perfect place for Breeze Bars.

Big News

We have big news on the horizon. Breeze Bars will be carried in an independent grocery store here in boulder very soon. We will let you know who it is and when it will be.

A Day In The Life

There is no doubt that moving the production of Breeze Bars to a Mile Hi Co-Packer has helped the company, both of us. However, the load of the work still falls on the two of us. I thought I would give you a little glimpse into what the days look like.

Friday was filled with Breeze packing boxes of bars up for shipment out to retailers and individuals. She was up at the Rio Grande Cycling team night on Thursday and got home from FoCo at about 10PM. Up early the next day, Breeze was answering emails and sending out bars. She also had to package Sunbutter bars. Meanwhile, I was off coaching at RallySport. Breeze was in Boulder talking to a couple new retailer possibilities and then she came over to Rally for a swim. We both finished workout at 7, me out of the water and her in it and headed home, for more work.

We packaged samples and Sunbutter bars until pretty late. The next day Breeze was off to the Snow Show to help Zeal Optics and pass out samples. I went into Rally to coach, but also brought in more Sunbutter bars to replenish the cafe's supplies. After workout I was off to my brother's to give him some bars to take skiing. Then it was home to change and race into the Vic's/Peerless team ride stocked with samples for the guys. I passed them out and then headed out for 4 hours on the bike.

Meanwhile, Breeze spent the day handing out bars to retailers at the show. Thank God we have no money or she would have spent it all at the show. I think we got some interest, but if nothing else we made some good contacts. She got home around 7 at night and we decided to enjoy a night out at Mountain Sun. That night lasted exactly 2 hours. Needless to say we were asleep pretty early.

Tomorrow is a full day too. There is always something to do.

quick and sustainable energy

Ahh gotta love long rides! Yep, I was out this weekend and felt a bonk rapidly approaching...it was at that moment I was so glad to have a Breeze Bar on hand.

So what makes Breeze Bars so special? First of all they are all natural. While you will see all natural bars on the market, few are actually geared towards supplying quick yet sustainable energy, along with great taste. You can look at a Breeze Bar and know what you are eating without even having to read the label! In addition to being all natural, Breeze Bars are designed to supply quick energy and sustainable energy all in one! Breeze Bars uses honey and agave nectar which provide quick energy when needed. (This is what I felt immediately after eating the bar on my long ride this weekend). On the other hand, Breeze Bars uses nuts, nut butters, seeds and seed butters to provide long term sustained energy that sticks with you the day. Breeze Bars taste great, are good for you and provide you with everything you need to know about the bar just by looking at it..what more could you want from a bar?!

Friday, January 1, 2010

Breeze Bars newest edition, the Breeze Energy Sunbutter Bar is due out this month! The bar is packed with flavor and nutrition and is unique in that it is nut, soy, dairy, wheat and gluten free! This is the perfect bar for anyone with food allergies or those just interested in trying something new! The sunbutter bar is a great addition to the Breeze Bars line. While currently available on our website, the Sunbutter bar will be available in stores by the end of the month!
